Scuba Diving & Snorkeling
Peleliu's location is ideal for SCUBA divers! The vast majority of Palau's famous dive sites are located nearby. World famous Blue Corner, Blue Hole and German Channel are just 20 minutes away by boat and Yellow Wall and Peleliu Express are only minutes away. It takes speed boats out of Koror an hour to an hour and a half to reach these sites! Imagine having Blue Corner all to yourself and finishing your dive before the onslaught of divers from Koror. And, with less time traveling to and from the dive sites, you can make more dives or have more time to enjoy Pelelui by land.
For non-divers, the island has many beaches to snorkel, swim or beachcomb for treasures. Peleliu Island has the only natural swimming hole in Palau. Ngermelt Swimming Hole is a natural formation dropping about 15 feet (5 meters) to the surface of the water. The depth is about 15 feet as well. A truly unique experience you'll only find in Peleliu.
Jellyfish Lake , a marine lake in Eil Malk Island just minutes away by speedboat, is home to thousands of stingless jellyfish. Thousands of years ago jellyfish became trapped in a natural basin on the island as the ocean receded. Over time, and with no natural predators threatening them, they evolved into a new species that lost their stinging ability. Swimming amongst these jellyfish is a once in a lifetime experience you don't want to miss.
